The criteria for selection in Pakistan Rangers (Punjab) as spelled out in Pakistan Rangers Recruitment Rules 1968 is appended and Criteria for different trades Clerks, Signal, Medical, Veterinary, Electrical Mechanical Engineer etc is as under:-

Civilians

Physical Standard
Minimum Height	–	5’-6” (preference to more height)
Minimum Chest	–	32 inches & 33½ inches with expansion
Weight	–	Not less than 121 lbs. No over weight candidates will be enlisted.
Note:- Director General Pakistan Rangers (Punjab) is empowered to condone physical standard in special cases i.e higher qualification / sportsman.
Age Limits.		Not less than 18 years and not more than 25 years. Director General Pakistan Rangers (Punjab) is competent to grant relaxation in upper age limit by two years i.e, upto 27 years.
Education Standard
Sub Inspector	–	Minimum education FA (preference to higher qualification)
Havildar Naik	–	Minimum education Matric (preference to higher qualification)
Sepoy	–	Minimum education 8th class passed from Govt recognized schools (preference to higher qualification)
Religious Teacher	–	Minimum Matric passed candidates from Govt recognized school and Faarigh / Faazil Daras-e-Nizami from one of the recognized Religious Institutions. (preference to higher qualification)
Ex-Service Man

Education Standard as under:-
Sub Inspector	–	Matric or an equivalent exam from a recognized University or Board:     or Ist RU Ist MR 3rd Eng
Havildar/Naik	–	Matric or an equivalent exam from a recognized University or Board
Sepoy	–	2nd Cl Army education certificate 3rd Cl MR
Age Limits.
Sub Inspector	–	Upto 45 Years
